Rated 4 out of 5 by Alv888 from Good useful product I recently bought the 40" de-thatcher to help revitalise a half acre lawn. The manufactured quality of the product seems good, and the assembly instructions were OK. I did have to keep the hitch quite loose as the de-thatcher appears to be designed for a hitch height lower than that of my mower. At max adjustment it's only just OK. In operation the de-thatcher worked a treat. As I was using it in spring I used it without additional weights, and this was fine. The de-thatcher quickly raked out thatch and moss, and lifted the grass stems up for a good mowing cut. A nightmare manual job was transformed into a simple de-thatch run, followed by a mow. I'm looking forward to enjoying the results this summer

Nor did your software recognize a single character e-mail as a network provider: "q" = Century-link which was Quest which was US West. 2. I thought the De-thatcher was a little flimsy while I was assembling it. However, I was truly impressed once I used it. It really does an excellent job. I am very pleased with the purchase. I guess my warranty is down the tube because of #1 above, but I have completed the yard this Spring and will not use it again until this Fall. Rated 5 out of 5 by victim from Missing Parts Follow up! I contacted Customer Service to report the missing parts. No questions asked, except for where purchased, name, address, phone number and part number. Turns out there was another list of parts number for the un-bagged parts in the back of the book. I was told the parts would ship that day. That was last Monday and the parts arrived on Thursday. Awesome! I wish I had that Reps name so I could personally thank him here. Great Customer Service! I put the thatcher together last night and put it through the paces this morning. So far, so good. Works exactly as I imagined. Thank you Agri-Fab and thank you Customer Service!

But I have to say after coming back to the store 2 times and wasting hours of my life I decided to write this down. I have attempted to put this thing together several times now and EVERY TIME there's major parts missing. This is rediculous how a company can make a product with missing parts like people have nothing better to do with their time but to keep coming back to the store . After 2 times I'm getting discouraged I literally think that it's not even worth my time keep exchanging it because it's just going to be missing more/different parts.. Very disappointing...

This thing is made of very sturdy materials, and quality workmanship is evident. Assembly, while straightforward, took about 2 hours. A good illustrated manual made this a joyful experience! I didn't even think to consult the available video, as it wasn't necessary. I haven't used it yet, but with a hopefully early spring (the groundhog was wrong), I will soon. I expect it to work just fine, as I toy with the amount of weight needed. I also bought a core aerator, which should be delivered today. It will be fun to do these tasks to my lawn, as opposed to paying someone to do it. Thank you from my grass!

They saw me dethatch my lawn and neighbor after neighbor requested I do their lawn or wanted to borrow my dethatcher. I actually wanted to write a review about Agri-Fab customer service. From excessive use my tines started snapping off one by one. I ordered new tines, fairly priced I might add, and the process was very simple and quick and I was alerted to their receipt of my order, promptly shipped, emailed tracking # and received in just a few days. Highly recommend Agri-Fab for anything. If only more companies respected their customers like this. Wow, what a concept. Thx AF!

Rated 4 out of 5 by ringo13 from Good Lawn Tool - - - Bad instructions I bought this about 2 months ago and it does the job. Having said that, the instructions to assemble it leave a lot to be desired. Someone decided that it was better to provide pictures of each step without any text. It does save in publishing in multiple languages, but unless you are mechanically inclined it's difficult. Especially the part of securing the tines to the frame. I looked at that step for 20 minutes before I could figure it out. Maybe it's just me. Anyway, if there's an option to pay for assembly at the store you may want to consider it or plan on spending a few hours putting it together unless your good at this stuff. Make sure you have a power drill with socket attachments

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eddie999 from Some simple improvements. Some assembly steps had to be reversed in order to complete later assembly steps. One step required removing of a spring to insert a bolt. After assembly, I could not hitch to the mover because of inadequate throw on the hitch plate. I used a round file to make the hole oblong for the forward mounting bolt to increase the throw about 3/8 inch. I was surprised by the ease of assembly comments by others in the product reviews. That suggests maybe the tolerances on the parts is not very consistent. There were 4 left over bolts which is always a concern that something was omitted in the assembly. More wasted time going over each step to confirm these were just extra unnecessary parts.

Please take a look at model 45-0343 this is the sweeper front mount dethatcher. It will fit on any Agri-Fab lawn sweeper as well as most sweepers manufactured in the US. Yes, the Agri-Fab dethatcher has a universal hitch with pin included. As long as your Cub Cadet mower has a rear hitch the dethatcher will attach. If you have additional questions the Agri-Fab customer care team is available Monday -Friday between 7 am to 5 pm CST at 800-448-9282.

Thank you for your question. If the de-thatcher appears to be "jumping" during use, then extra weight should be adder to the tine shield. In most conditions extra weight will be needed. Concrete patio blocks are recommended for weight because of their low profile. Secure weight by using suitable binding material such as rubber tie down straps, fastening to the holes in the shield flange.

The length of the tine for the 45-0294 is a little over 7 inches/18.5 cm from the top of the spring to the bottom of the tine

I followed the directions exactly for the tine De Thatcher.. The hitch bars are way too low to attach to my Cub Cadet lawnmower. Either send me an attachment for my Cub Cadet hitch or take the thatcher back.

Add a half inch spacer between the weight tray and the rear row bar brackets. Worked for my simplicity with an 11.5” hitch height.
